TNHA Christmas Charity Appeal  – The Salvation Army’s Toys and Tins Appeal

As we approach the festive season, we are proud to be supporting The Salvation Army’s ‘Toys and Tins’ appeal. This initiative provides vital support to families in need during Christmas, and we are keen to contribute as the TNHA community. During form time, students will be working together in their Tutor Groups to design a creative ‘carrier’ for any donations. This activity is part of our Challenge Cup and is a wonderful opportunity to demonstrate one of our core academy values: ‘Be Kind’.

If you are able to donate, we would be incredibly grateful for your support. All donations must be new and unused to ensure they can be distributed safely and appropriately – please note these must not be wrapped. Suggested donations include:

  • For children aged 0–3 years – Dolls, teddy bears, cot mobiles, baby clothes, bath toys, soft books, puzzles

  • For children aged 3–5 years – Dolls and action figures, toy cars and lorries, colouring sets, crayons, picture books, simple puzzles

  • For children aged 5–9 years – Educational games and toys, stationery sets, books, puzzles, wordsearch and crossword books

  • For children aged 9–12 years –Board games, craft kits, books, t-shirts, hair accessories, gloves, scarves, hats

  • For young people aged 13–16 years – Books, toiletries and make-up (non-allergenic), gloves, scarves, hats, t-shirts, hair accessories, gift vouchers

  • Non-perishable food items (for the ‘Tins’ part of the appeal) – Canned vegetables, soup, pasta, rice, biscuits, cereals, tea, coffee

The deadline for all donations is Wednesday 4th December. Students can bring their items into school and place them in their group’s designated carrier. Thank you for your continued support and generosity.  If any member of the public would like to help – please bring your donation to our Main Reception.
